Valmet nets Gasum LNG automation contract

Finland’s Valmet secured a contract to supply automation services for Gasum’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) operations in the Nordic countries.

With Valmet’s automation solutions, all measurement data connected to the LNG terminal operations of Gasum’s subsidiary Skangas will be collected and controlled centrally, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The project was preceded by a successful basic automation engineering phase.

Valmet will supply Gasum with connecting systems, operations management and a centralized database.

Valmet did not reveal the value of the deal.

Skangas has LNG production plants in Risavika, Norway, and Porvoo, Finland, as well as LNG terminals in Norway, Sweden and Finland.
