Vestas nets another 50 MW order for Hoa Binh 1 project in Vietnam

Vestas has secured a 50 MW wind turbine order for the second phase of the Hoa Binh 1 intertidal wind farm in Vietnam.

The wind turbine supplier received an order for the project’s first 50 MW phase in December 2019, which included 13 V150-4.2 MW turbines, with ten of them delivered in 3.8 MW and three in 4 MW operating mode.

For the second phase, Vestas will deliver the same number of turbines with the same output optimisation as for the first phase.

The new order for the project, signed with Phuong Anh Group, also includes a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. In addition, the service agreement for the first phase, originally signed for a period of ten years, has now been extended to a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement.

The turbine installation work at the project site, located in the shallow waters off the HĂ²a Bình district in Bạc LiĂªu Province, is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021.

According to Vestas, this contract marks its eighth intertidal project in the Vietnam and over 1 GW of total wind energy projects Vestas wind turbines were chosen for in the country.

“As a result of the successful co-operation for both phases of Hoa Binh 1 project and our trust in Vestas’ wind solutions, Phuong Anh Group will continue to work with Vestas to develop other upcoming wind projects in the near future”, said Dao Hai Linh, Deputy General Director of Phuong Anh Group.
