As highlight of Hamburg Cruise Days 2017, the big cruise ship parade was held in the evening hours of September 9.

The 2016-built AIDAprima, owned by German cruise line AIDA Cruises which is the premium partner of the event, led the parade.

Six cruise ships including AIDAprima, Norwegian Jade, Europa 2, Europa and MSC Preziosa – escorted by numerous smaller boats and accompanied by a grand firework display – left the port, sailing downriver.

The 300-meter-long and 37-meter-wide AIDAprima was also part of the lighting installation Blue Port Hamburg. The artwork illuminated over one hundred objects in the port between Elbbrücken and Övelgönne, including buildings, terminals, operating vehicles, quays, cranes, docks, pontoons and ships.

Take a look at the video below showing the AIDAprima on its way to the installation position and the start of the parade with the fireworks.
