VIDEO: Another Season of Tallebudgera Creek Dredging

The Gold Coast City Council recently completed another season of the Tallebudgera Creek dredging and Burleigh Beach Nourishment operations.

These works were performed under the City’s 4-6 year contract with a Queensland-based dredging contractor which includes dredging and beach nourishment works at both Tallebudgera and Currumbin creeks.

The works are an integral part of the Gold Coast City Council’s program to maintain and replenish the sand on Gold Coast beaches.

This year over 26,000m³ of clean sand was dredged from the Tallebudgera Creek to replenish the sand on Burleigh Beach. The sand was pumped overland and released in the southern end of Burleigh Beach, near the Burleigh Beach Pavilion and spread up to 350m northwards.

A 250mm Cutter Suction Dredge named Nu Enterprise, a land based booster pump and up to 1.8km of pipeline were used to complete the works.
