VIDEO: Goliat FPSO Arrives in Norway
The Floating and Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) unit platform Goliat reached its destination on Friday 17 April after a 63-day voyage of 15,608 nautical miles.
The FPSO left Hyundai Heavy Industries’ Ulsan shipyard located in South Korea on 14 February aboard the Dockwise Vanguard, the world’s only semi-submersible heavy transport vessel.
Goliat sailed across the Indian Ocean, around South Africa before heading north to the Atlantic and sailing around the British Isles to its destination at Hammerfest, in the south of Norway.
Goliat was designed by a Norwegian company to face the harsh Arctic conditions of the Barents Sea and integrates a series of revolutionary design innovations to guarantee secure and stable operation.
