Vopak ups Gate LNG stake

Rotterdam-based storage tank company Vopak said it has recently boosted its stake in Gate LNG terminal in the Netherlands.

Vopak increased its share in the LNG joint venture Gate Terminal from 47.6% to 50.0%,” the company said in its half-year report.

The main shareholders in the first Dutch LNG terminal are Vopak and Nederlandse Gasunie.

According to the report, Vopak’s operating profit from its global LNG activities amounted to EUR 14.6 million, which is an increase of 28% compared to the first half in 2014.

Beside the stake in Gate terminal, Vopak also has a 60% majority ownership in Altamira LNG plant in Mexico.
