Vroon takes delivery of ERRV VOS Famous

The Dutch-based shipping company, Vroon, has taken delivery of VOS Famous Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV) from Jiangsu Islands Shipbuilding Industry in Nanjing, China.

The vessel left Jiangsu Islands Shipbuilding Industry in China during the weekend.

According to Vroon, VOS Famous ERRV is the seventh in a ten-vessel newbuilding programme, with six 50-m ERRVs being built at Jiangsu Island Shipbuilding in Nanjing and four 60-m vessels under construction at Fujian Shipbuilding Industry, also in China.

The first three vessels from Nanjing, VOS Fabulous, VOS Fairness and VOS Faithful, have already been delivered to the company and are now operating out of Aberdeen for Vroon Offshore Services.

VOS Famous is a 50 m long ERRV of Survivor Class group ‘B’ that can take 300 survivors, with 15 cabins for crew accommodation.

The vessel was christened in a ceremony held at the shipyard in November 2014 and it will be operational in the North Sea this summer.
