Wilson Buys Bremer Lloyd’s Bulker Duo

Norway’s shipping company Wilson has reached an agreement to purchase two bulk carriers from German shipowner Bremer Lloyd.

The ships in question are the 2001-built Hanseatic Trader and the 2002-built Wilson Holla, previously named Hanseatic Scout.

Featuring 4,345 dwt, the bulkers were bought for a price of EUR 5.8 million (USD 7 million) each. They are scheduled to be delivered to their new owner during the first quarter of 2018.

Hanseatic Scout, which already carries the Wilson name, is chartered by the company. The second vessel Hanseatic Trader would be renamed upon delivery.

Wilson said that the transactions would be financed through equity and a drawing down of an existing loan facility.

Including the latest additions to its fleet, Wilson operates a total of 118 vessels, of which 81 are controlled by the company.
