Wilson Orders Bulker Trio

Bergen-based short sea company Wilson has signed an agreement with a Chinese shipyard Wuxue Janda Shipbuilding Co. Ltd for the construction of a series of three bulk carriers featuring 2600 dwt.

The contract stipulates an option for construction of two additional vessels of the same size 2600 dwt.

The agreement is subject to board approval and sufficient refund gaurantees from the yard. The deal is expected to be sealed during the second quarter of this year, Wilson said.

The bulker trio is slated for delivery during 2016 and will have a pricetag of EUR 3.25 million (USD 3.6 million) per ship.

The Wilson fleet consists of 111 vessels, ranging from 1500-8500 dwt, whereof 83 are owned by the Wilson group.
