Wind up hearing adjourned for Emas Offshore unit

A wind up hearing against Emas Offshore’s subsidiary, Lewek Champion Shipping, related to debts for the charter of the Lewek Champion vessel has been adjourned for July.

The owner of the Lewek Champion pipelay construction vessel, Hai Jiang 1401, filed an application with the High Court of Singapore on May 5 to wind up Lewek Champion Shipping as the charterer was unable to pay accrued debts of around $195.02 million.

Hai Jiang 1401, a unit of China’s ICBC Financial Leasing, also sought for Soo Hon Weng to be appointed as liquidator of the company.

Subsequent to application against Lewek Champion Shipping, the hearing had been fixed for May 26.

However, Emas Offshore informed on Wednesday, May 31 that the application has now been adjourned to be heard on July 14, 2017.
