Woodside of Australia Confirms Leviathan Offer

Woodside of Australia has confirmed that it has submitted a bid to buy a stake in Israel’s Leviathan gas field.

The company said in a statement that it is in an early phase of a competitive bidding process with the Leviathan partners for an interest in the 349/Rachel and 350/Amit petroleum licences offshore Israel, covering the Leviathan gas field.

Any speculation about price and commercial terms is premature,” the company added.

Delek of Isreal said yesterday that LNG player Woodside has submitted a bid to buy a stake in Leviathan gas project.

With regard to the various reports published in the Israeli media concerning the bid for the Leviathan strategic partner, the gas subsidiaries together with its partners in the Leviathan project announced that as part of the strategic process, a proposal was received by Woodside Petroleum Ltd,” Delek said in a statement.
