Workers return to Buchan Alpha platform

Talisman Sinopec is returning its workers back to the Buchan Alpha platform in the North Sea, following an evacuation earlier this week.

The company yesterday said it had flown 61 non-essential personnel from the semi-submersible platform, located 83 miles North East of Aberdeen, following severe weather forecasts.

In an e-mail sent today to Offshore Energy Today, a Talisman Sinopec spokesperson said: “We have begun to transfer the team back onto Buchan today due to the improvement in the weather. We currently have a total of 33 onboard and will continue to upman over the next few days.”
