Yemen LNG Participates in Korea-Yemen Energy Forum

Yemen LNG Company participated in the Korea-Yemen Energy forum at Sana’a this 10th June.

His Excellency Park Kyu-ock, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, signaled in his opening remarks the importance of the LNG in the bilateral trade between Yemen and Korea and the vital necessity to protect oil and gas pipelines.

In his congratulatory remarks, His Excellency Hisham Sharaf, Minister of Oil and Minerals, praised the Korean and French companies who stayed in Yemen during the crisis.

Yemen LNG Company comprises three Korean investors, Kogas, SK Energy and Hyundai who hold together 21.42% of the shares.

Korea is the main destination for the LNG produced in Yemen and Kogas receives around three and a half million tons per year from Yemen LNG Company. Korea is the second largest importer of LNG in the world and Yemen is the 5th largest supplier of LNG to Korea.
