North Sea Tankers (NST) announced that its tonnage partner Borealis Maritime will add vessel number four and five (M/T Bomar Pluto and M/T Bomar Ceres) to NST’s fleet consisting of 21 chemical tankers.

The 2008-built 5,500 dwt ‘Bomar Pluto’ will be join NST’s commercial pool operation this weekend and her 2009-built sister is due to arrive next month.

The eight vessels in NST’s fleet with similar size/characteristics built 2006-2009, all fitted with Nitrogen generators and coated with Marine Line – ‘Bomar Pluto’, ‘Bomar Ceres’, ‘ Eras’, ‘ Kardemir’, ‘Bomar Mars’, ‘Bomar Mercury’, ‘ Bomar Venus’ and ‘Cappadocian’ – will form the backbone of NST’s inter-European trade development, the company said.

“The continuous strong support from Borealis Maritime and our other tonnage partners Bakri Navigation, Pyxis Maritime, Pallas Shipping, NBZ, Unifleet, Wappen Reederei and ICDAS is providing the foundation for NST’s business module, where we can continue to build our long term strategy for serving the NW European market and our customers with the highest possible operational flexibility.

“To trade one of the largest and the youngest European Chemical fleet, with fully approved quality vessels will certainly place North Sea Tankers in a strong position going forward in Europe,” NST managing director Niclas Kappelin said.
