Russian Navy’s BF Commissions Two New Tugboats of Project 16609

Russian Navy’s State commission has officially accepted two tugboats of project 16609 built by the Pella Shipyard for the for Baltic Fleet (BF). The two tugs will bare the names “Delphin” (building No 618, project 16609) and “Kasatka” (building No 619, project 16609).

These tugs of project 16609 are Azimuth tugs intended for harbor, coastal and offshore towing and berthing operations as well as for firefighting operations, oil spill removal. At the nearest time the tugboats will be transported by inland waterways to port of Murmansk, after that the tugs will be put into operation in Russian Navy Northern Fleet.
