South Korea: STX Bags $695 Mln Shipbuilding Contract

STX Offshore & Shipbuilding revealed on December 23th that the company has secured a contract worth USD 695 million to build 13 oil tankers for BP Shipping, Reuters reports.

The shipbuilder is hired to build three 160,000 DWT and ten 110,000 DWT vessels. The contract includes an additional option for eight more tankers.

All the ships will be built in the company’s Jinhae Dockyard and delivered by the end of 2015.
