Newbuild JO ROWAN Departs NCS

New Century Shipbuilding (NCS) has delivered the first 74,500 DWT product/chemical tanker to Jo Tankers AS from Norway. The vessel, named JO ROWAN, is one of the biggest product and chemical tankers in the world.

The overall length of the LR-classed vessel is 228.6 meters, its moulded breadth being 32.26m, moulded depth 21.2 m, design draft 12.2 m and scantling draft 14.65 m. The cargo area is divided into 14 cargo tanks with each cargo tank being self contained and totally separated from each other. All cargo tanks have an independent deepwell pump and cargo transfer system.

The vessel, designed and developed by NCS, marks a milestone in the transformation of NCS product structure moving the company into the market of high-technology, high value-added and environmentally-friendly vessels.

Main Engine: MAN B&W 5S60MC-C8 Two Stroke, single acting, crosshead type, (MCR)11,900 KW x 105 RPM

Engine Fuel: HFO 380 cSt/50oC (up to 700 cSt / 50oC)

Propeller: Keyless Type Fixed Pitch 4 bladed, Solid skew type and net cutter

Energy saving device: Mewis duct

Auxiliary Aggregates: MAN B&W 6L23/30H 4sets 900KW

Auxiliary Boiler: 1 x Oil-fired steam boiler, 1 set combination boiler
