CIC Jiangsu Kicks Off Construction of Tomini's Newbuilds

CIC Jiangsu shipyard (CICJS) has begun construction of Tomini Shipping’s 64,000 DWT bulk carriers.

The steel-cutting ceremony for the first two, out of nine ordered, vessels (Hull Number: CIS64000-05 and CIS64000-05) was held on December 20th 2013. Secretary of Party Committee of CICJS Qiu Shuquan hosted the ceremony.

Director of CICJS Wang Yiling delivered the welcome speech, expressing that China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd will accomplish the construction of Tomini’s bulkers on schedule and ensure the quality with its first-class facilities and skilled staff.

Deputy General Manager of China Shipping Industry Mr. Liu Xianhua and Chairman of SUMEC Marine Co., Ltd, Mr. Tian Ming, together with Mr. Imtiaz Shaikh, started the button of the cutting machine.

These bulkers represent the next generation of green, energy-saving ultra Handymax ships that are jointly developed by CICJS and Shanghai Ship and Shipping Research Institute.

Delivery of the first ship is scheduled for mid-2015.
