China: Boluomiao Shipyard Finishes Repairing of MV Feng-fan 17

 

M.V. “Feng-fan 17” was well repaired by CIC Boluomiao Shipyard and re-delivered to the owners on April 20, 2011.

The repair work of the oil tanker “Feng-fan 17” included 3 sets of diesel generator, cargo pumps, pipes, tail shaft, blades, and conventional dry-docking repair.

Since the vessel’s main engine and diesel generators are the latest models, the shipyard employed the high technique to handle them.

The yard paid high attention to the repair technology, working quality& safety and etc. Full arrangement and detailed schedule were drawn up in advance.

During the repair period, the staff from the shipyard, the vessel and the shipping company met together every day to analyze the situation and kill the problem timely.

As for the safety management, focusing on the difficulty and emphasis of the tanker, the shipyard took the measures and arranged the safety supervisors to the working spot, finally secured the safety of the production.

CIC Boluomiao Shipyard, a subsidiary of China Shipping Industry Co. Ltd, is an integrated ship repair base in South China with 40-year ship repair experience. Now Boluomiao Shipyard consists of two sites which are Huangpu and Haizhu sites. The Huangpu Site has a quay line of 540 m, locates at the joint of Zhongshan Avenue and Huangpu Bridge, neighboring to Huangpforu Port, which is the largest port in South China. Vessels up to 80000DWT can be undertaken for repair and/or conversion; And Haizhu Site has a quay line of 332 m, locates at the joint of Guang zhou Avenue, South Circumference Highway and Luoxi Bridge. Vessels up to 16000DWT can be undertaken for repair and/or conversion, vessels up to 8000DWT can be undertaken for docking repair.
