USA: BAE Systems Participates at Houston Offshore Technology Conference

 

BAE Systems will showcase a range of ship repair capabilities for commercial customers at the 2011 Offshore Technology Conference, May 2-5 at the Reliant Center in Houston, Texas.

With more than 5,000 experienced project managers and highly skilled tradespeople, BAE Systems has logged millions of man-hours with proven success in drydock and pierside repairs and in maintenance, overhaul and conversion of a full spectrum of commercial and military vessels. With state-of-the-art ship repair craft shops and fabrication facilities, as well as mobile work teams, no job is too big or too small – from massive cruise ships and container vessels to mega-yachts and tugs. BAE Systems operates six full-service shipyards in Mobile, Alabama; San Francisco and San Diego, California; Jacksonville, Florida; Norfolk, Virginia; and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The company also has satellite ship repair facilities in Mayport, Florida and Moss Point, Mississippi.

Southeast Shipyards Alabama

Located on the U.S. Gulf Coast in Mobile, Alabama, our 423-acre, full-service facility is 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico on the Mobile River and is accessible via a 42-foot-deep shipping channel with no overhead restrictions. We provide commercial, offshore and U.S. defense cargo vessel maintenance, repair, overhaul and conversion, as well as marine fabrication and new construction.

Southeast Shipyards Jacksonville

Located on the U.S. East Coast in Jacksonville, Florida, our 101-acre, full-service facility is 2 miles from the Atlantic Ocean at the intersection of the St. John’s River and the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and is accessible via a 41-foot-deep shipping channel with no overhead restrictions. We provide the U.S. Navy, other government agencies and commercial customers with vessel modernization, maintenance, repair, overhaul and conversion, as well as marine fabrication.

San Francisco Ship Repair

Centrally located near the major U.S. West Coast shipping hubs of Los Angeles/Long Beach, Oakland and Seattle, our San Francisco Ship Repair facility is at the foot of Pier 70, 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean and accessible via the bay and a controlling draft of 32 feet. With the largest floating drydock on the West Coast (lift rating of 56,960 LT), we service commercial and government vessel services including maintenance, alterations and fabrication.

Norfolk Ship Repair

Located on the U.S. East Coast in Norfolk, Virginia, our 109-acre, full-service facility is on the Elizabeth River, 10 nautical miles from the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel and accessible via a 40-deep shipping channel with no overhead restrictions. We provide vessel maintenance, repair, overhaul and conversion to the U.S. Navy, other government agencies and commercial customers.
