Hyundai-Vinashin Shipyard Starts Construction of Bulk Carrier for Turkish Owner

On May 06th, 2011, HVS carried out the steel cutting ceremony of bulk carrier 56,000 tons with Hull No.S047 ordered by East Shipping Limited (Turkey).

The ceremony is organized at steel fabrication shop with attendance of representative from ship owners, classification society (DNV ) and HVS. This is the second vessel in the total series of 8 vessels of Turkish Owner Geden. The vessel has 188m of length, 32.26m of width, 18.30m of Depth. HVS is fully equipped with states of the art facilities to accommodate new shipbuilding business field including 2 Graving Docks of ¿00.000 DWT and 80.000 DWT capacity, a 1.500 meter length quay, one ¿50 Tons Goliath crane, two 250 Tons Jib cranes and other Gantry & Jib cranes. HVS also upgraded, extended and invested more workshops such as Hull shops. Painting & Blasting shops. Outfitting shops, and other utility plants to meet new shipbuilding requirements.
