Mammoet Tests One of Its New PTC Super Heavy Lift Cranes

Mammoet recently successfully tested one of its new PTC Super Heavy Lift cranes with a test load of 3520 tons at 33 meters radius. The crane, designed in-house by Mammoet, was rigged with a 83 meter main boom and 36 meter jib. The maximum design load on the jib is 2900 tons which sets a world record among jib cranes and sheerlegs.

This is one of the three PTCs being built and tested at our dedicated terminal in Westdorpe in the Netherlands and it will soon be shipped to Brazil for its first job.

The company is also finishing work on the other two cranes of this series. Both the design and the construction of the cranes are checked in detail by Lloyd’s Register. This gives to the customers ability to undertake the heaviest lifts in complete safety.
