The motor vessel “King Coal” (LOA 224.8 m and molded breadth 32.2 m) managed by a reputable Greek ship owner was smoothly repaired recently and departed from CIC Changxing Shipyard. This vessel was the second one undertaken by CIC Changxing Shipyard from the same owner and meanwhile, its repair fee was the highest among the owner’s other single vessel repair projects this year.

It was the third special survey of the subject vessel and her main repair scope was steel renewal of approx. 280 tons, seven cargo holds treatment, deck hydraulic piping replacement and machinery devices maintenance.

CIC Changxing Shipyard had made sufficient preparation and drawn up a detailed repair schedule in advance. The cargo holds staging erection was set up once the vessel’s arrival and the full blasting & coating of all cargo holds were accomplished within eight (8) days. Under the close coordination of the owner’s representative, the shipyard’s commercial & production management and all relevant workshops, the cargo holds tank-top steel renewal was performed smoothly, too.
