 CMHI Successfully Launches Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger Tongheng

Tongheng, the 11000 m3 trailing suction hopper dredger being constructed by CMHI, was successfully launched on December 26. Guests from CCCC, Tianjin Dredging Corporation, MARIC and CCS Shenzhen Branch attended the ceremony.

Emceed by Mr. Tu Fengqing, the Deputy Managing Director of CMHI, Mr. Zhu Guiming, the Managing Director of CMHI, and Mr. Gu Ming, the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Engineer of CCCC Tianjin Dredging Corporation addressed at the ceremony.

CMHI Successfully Launches Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger Tongheng

Tongheng is invested by CCCC Tianjin Dredging Corporation with 11000 m3 hopper capacity. Its dredging depth is up to 40 m. The dredging is designed capable for working in shallow water areas with high breadth to draft ratio. Besides, the speed of the dredger is up to 16 knot at 6600 kW engine output.

Tongheng is another important project after Tijanjing, the world’s third and Asia’s largest self-propelled cutter suction dredger, constructed by CMHI for CCCC Tianjin Dredging Corporation. The launching of the vessel is a solid milestone of the long term cooperation between CCCC Tianjin Dredging Corporation and CMHI.
