Nordic Sirius Handed Over to NAT

Business & Finance

New York-listed tanker owner Nordic American Tankers (NAT) has taken delivery of the Nordic Sirius, the third in a series of four Suezmax vessels bought in May this year.

NAT entered into an agreement with an undisclosed seller to acquire the four 150,000 dwt tankers for a price of USD 106 million.

The four tankers were built at a Japanese shipyard between 2000 and 2004.

In the course of 30 days, NAT has taken delivery of three vessels, including the Nordic Castor that was delivered last week.

The fourth vessel is scheduled for delivery in mid-July this year.

Following the delivery of these four vessels, NAT’s fleet will consist of 30 Suezmax tankers, including two newbuildings from Korea, scheduled for delivery in August 2016 and January 2017.
