Norway: October Oil Production Higher than Predicted

Norwegian Petroleum Directorate today reported preliminary production figures for October 2011. They indicate an average daily production of about 2 022 000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate. This is an increase of 107 000 barrels compared to September.

Gas production was about 8.2 billion Sm3, which is 0.7 billion Sm3 more than the previous month.

The average daily liquid production in October was: 1 681 000 barrels of oil, 265 000 barrels of NGL and 75 000 barrels of condensate.

The Following fields had reduced production in October, Gjøa due to planned maintenance, Grane due to problems with the gas injection compressor and Njord, Tordis, Visund and Volve due to technical problems. Still, total oil production is somewhat higher than the NPD’s prognosis for the year to date.

Total production for the first ten months of 2011 is about 179.6 million Sm3 oil equivalents. (MSm3 o.e.), broken down as follows: about 81.4 MSm3 o.e. of oil, about 16.9 MSm3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and about 81.2 MSm3 o.e. of gas. This is 9.0 MSm3 o.e. less than in the same period in 2010.

Final production figures from September 2011 show an average daily production of about 1.541 million barrels of oil, 0.373 million barrels of NGL and condensate and a total of 7.5 billion Sm3 net gas production.

Preliminary production figures for November will be published in December 2011.
