MHWirth to axe more jobs in Norway

MHWirth, an international provider of drilling solutions and services to the oil and gas industry, will reportedly reduce its workforce in Norway by another 300 positions.

According to Offshore.no, the company informed its employees of this decision at a meeting on Monday.

MHWirth already slashed 100 jobs in Norway in May 2015, and between 500 and 800 worldwide in September 2015.

Just like the previous ones, this latest round of layoffs is a response to a challenging market situation.

MHWirth has 3,300 employees. It is headquartered in Kristiansand and has offices in six Norwegian cities including Stavanger, Oslo and Bergen.

Offshore Energy Today reached out to MHWirth seeking confirmation of these reports. We are yet to receive the company’s response.
