SFN Expands C-Fibre Portfolio from Greater Dublin Area to Paris

Sea Fibre Networks (SFN), owner and operator of Europe’s most advanced sub-sea telecoms network, CeltixConnect, announced an expansion of their C-Fibre portfolio from the greater Dublin area to Paris, via London.

Demand for high capacity bandwidth and low latency solutions connecting Paris is largely driven by datacentres with low power costs and France’s central location as a termination point for international subsea cables carrying Internet traffic between U.S and Europe.

Paris is one of the leading business hubs in Europe for banking, commerce and telecommunications. As enterprises migrate to the cloud as an essential business strategy, demand for datacentres in Paris is experiencing double digit growth. The Paris Equinix Internet Exchange is the leading Internet Exchange in France, providing peering services to more than 200 customers and is predicted to expand with the exponential demand for cloud and on-demand services from the technology sector.

Designed to provide a highly reliable and scalable end-to-end network from Ireland to Paris, this strategic link leverages SFN’s alliance of best in class communication providers under one industry leading Service Level Agreement. Paris hosts the world’s headquarters of twenty-five Fortune Global 500 companies as well as many high growth technology firms, all requiring bespoke network solutions, low latency services, cost efficiencies and scalability that SFN delivers through its alliance.

Diane Hodnett, Sea Fibre Networks’ CEO, said; “We are excited to connect into this burgeoning cloud economy. In 2014 we will reinforce this solution by creating a robust, resilient loop of sub-sea connectivity with FastnetConnect – a submarine network connecting Ireland to mainland Europe via Paris. SFN’s strategy is focused on uniting terrestrial and submarine networks comparably and will construct key subsea infrastructure where lacking.”
