Gate terminal to re-export LNG cargo

Gate terminal to send LNG cargo

A liquefied natural gas tanker docked this morning at the first Dutch LNG import terminal, located on the Maasvlakte in the Port of Rotterdam.

The 138,000 cubic metres Excelerate LNG tanker is currently loading the chilled gas which was previously imported and stored in one of Gate terminal’s three LNG storage tanks. The destination of the cargo is currently unknown.

The Gate terminal, owned by Gasunie, Vopak and OMV, started reloading conventional-sized tankers in November last year.

It is expected that about thirty ship movements will be conducted at the terminal this year.

Last year we had 23 ship movements of which 5 big reloads, 3 small reloadings and 6 small unloads, so it would be realistic that we will do about thirty ship movements in 2014,Stefaan Adriaens, Commercial Manager of the Gate terminal told LNG World News earlier this year.
