G2 LNG seeks DOE export approval

G2 LNG LLC has filed with the U.S. Department of Energy to export 14 Mtpa of LNG (672 Bcf/year) from its proposed liquefaction facility to be located on the Calcasieu Ship Channel in Cameron Parish, LA.

The company is seeking to export the chilled gas for 30 years to nations with and without a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States.

According to the application, G2 LNG is currently in negotiations with several gas producers regarding long-term gas supply agreements, and with several parties for long-term export contracts.
