Saipem needs more money to complete Polish LNG terminal

Polish LNG terminal will be completed in the summer, only if Saipem of Italy receives additional payment, according to the Polish daily Rzeczpospolita.

Rzeczpospolita quoted Camilla Palladino, Saipem’s spokesperson, saying the LNG terminal will be ready to take loads during the summer if the company receives appropriate support from Polskie LNG and that the terminal’s full operations financing is provided in the coming months.

Earlier this month, Poland revealed that due to the delays in the construction it will not increase payments.

The start-up of the Świnoujście LNG terminal, operated by Gaz-System’s unit Polskie LNG, has been delayed for more than a year with the original date which was set for the end of June last year.
