Tokyo Gas October sales edge up

Total gas sales volume by Japan’s Tokyo Gas for the month of October came to about 1,072.692 million m3, up 0.5 percent from the same month in 2014.

In the residential sector, volume totaled 185.550 million m3, up 2.4 percent, while in the business sector, volume totaled 176.784 million m3, down 2.9 percent from October 2014, the company revealed in its report on Monday.

In the industrial sector, volume totaled 522.578 million m3, up 1.7 percent on year.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 187.780 million m3, down 1.5 percent from October 2014.

Tokyo Gas receives LNG at three import terminals in the Tokyo Bay area and distributes the fuel via a pipeline network measuring more than 61,000 kilometers in length.

Japan’s largest gas utility is also building the Hitachi LNG import terminal in Ibaraki Prefecture which is expected to start operations in March of 2016.
