Technip wins services contract from Woodside

LNG engineer Technip informed on Wednesday it has been awarded an engineering services contract by Perth-based liquefied natural gas player Woodside.

Technip has been selected to provide multi-disciplinary engineering services as part of an engineering panel, for Woodside-operated onshore, offshore and subsea producing assets, the company said in a statement.

Under the agreement,Technip and its unit Genesis, will provide concept select and feasibility studies, front-end engineering and design (FEED), detailed engineering, production engineering support, engineering assessment and review, as well as Genesis’ specialist technical services such as flow assurance, and technical safety.

Arnaud Pieton, President of Technip in Asia Pacific said the company will work on Woodside’s “existing and extensive onshore LNG facilities, offshore oil & gas assets and subsea infrastructures.”

Woodside’s LNG assets include the North West Shelf project on the Burrup Peninsula that includes the Karratha gas plant with a production capacity of 16.3 million tons a year from five liquefaction trains.

The company also operates the Pluto LNG facility located near the Karratha gas plant that has a production capacity of 4.3 million tonnes a year.
