MAN PrimeServ, a division of MAN Diesel & Turbo, signed a maintenance contract with Teekay Shipping for Teekay’s three ME-GI LNG carriers. 

Under the agreement, MAN PrimeServ will provide maintenance for the 173,400-cbm sister vessels, the Oak Spirit, Creole Spirit and Torben Spirit.

The agreement covers the provision of spare parts, maintenance management and the servicing of each vessel’s 2 × 5G70ME-GI (-Gas Injection) dual-fuel main engines.

Commenting on the agreement, Jeffrey Ang, head of CoC, engines & marine systems, Asia Pacific at MAN Diesel & Turbo, said that this is the first deal PrimeSerc clinched that involves the dual-fuel, two-stroke ME-GI engines.

According to the terms of the contract, MAN Diesel & Turbo, Copenhagen will deliver maintenance management and spare parts, while MAN Diesel & Turbo, Shanghai will take care of the service provision for the engines.
