China: FAW LNG Buses Run on Dalian Road

The first batch of CA6112URN31 liquefied natural gas (LNG) buses would be driven on the Dalian roads from Aug 21 this year, announced FAW Dalian Bus Factory, a wholly owned subsidiary of FAW Group.

The new models of CA6112URN31 and CA6890URN31 LNG buses which may significantly save energy and reduce emission are developed by FAW Dalian Bus Factory itself.

The power performance and fuel economy of the two models are in the leading position in China. Compared with the same power diesel buses, emission of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides of the above-said LNG buses are reduced 80%, 60% and 70% respectively, while their operation costs are 5 -10% lower than that of diesel buses.

Since the antiknock quality of the LNG is better than the normal fuel, customers may highly reduce the repair times of the engine. The first batch of 71 LNG buses is delivered to Dilian Suntong and Zhongshan Company, two city public transport companies.

Another 110 LNG buses will be handed over later this year. FAW Group is a leading global manufacturer of quality passenger cars, commercial trucks, and buses. Established in 1953, the company is China’s oldest and largest automotive group. Annual sales exceed one million units.
