CWC Group, Gazprom Global LNG and Petrobras Host 7th Annual LNG Awards in Rome, Italy

The LNG Awards, now in their 7th year, will be presented at the World LNG Summit and Award Gala Dinner in Rome, hosted by the CWC Group, Gazprom Global LNG and Petrobras on the 15th November 2011.

Recognising and celebrating excellence in the LNG industry, this year sees the presentation of two new award categories: ‘LNG Executive of 2011’ and the ‘LNG Technological Innovation Award 2011’.

These awards add to the coveted CWC/WGI LNG Award 2011 which has been won previously by leading international firms including RasGas Company Ltd, GDF Suez, BG Group and Cheniere LNG. The 2010 CWC/WGI LNG Award was won by Chevron in recognition of their contribution to the LNG industry, including delivering FID on the 15 mtpa Gorgon project and in its contribution to developing the Wheatstone project also in Australia. The nomination was also supported by the company’s activities in Angola and Venezuela.

2011 Award Categories and Criteria:

1. CWC / WGI Annual LNG Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry in 2011
This coveted award will be presented to a company from the LNG value chain that has excelled in the previous 12 months in one of the categories of innovation, activities or knowledge. The winner must be an active member of the LNG industry.

2. LNG Technological Innovation Award
This will be awarded to a company that, through technological improvement or change, has made / will make a fundamental change in the production, transportation or regasification of LNG over the past 12 months.

3. LNG Executive of 2011
This will be awarded to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the development and future of the LNG industry in the course of his/her career.
