China: December LNG Imports Rise

China paid about $596.64 per ton for the 1,460,012 mt of LNG imported in the country in December, customs data showed.

The country imported 1,028,539 mt of LNG in December 2010.

Most of the LNG supplies in December were shipped from Qatar, Australia, Indonesia and Nigeria.

China’s LNG imports will climb 30% in 2012 to meet demand for power generation, Mirae Asset Securities said recently in a report.
