US Congressman Boustany Welcomes LNG Investment to Louisiana

Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the statement after Royal Dutch Shell announced plans to build plants to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG) at local terminals in Louisiana.

“Once again, Louisiana finds itself at the center of a large domestic energy development, specifically in the natural gas industry. LNG is fast becoming a much sought after global commodity with a promising future that creates thousands of jobs at home while increasing America’s energy security.

“Royal Dutch Shell’s investment shows the viability of LNG as a competitive fuel option for consumers in the near future. I’m proud to see another global competitor recognizing the energy resources our state possesses. Louisiana continues to lead the nation in its drive toward domestic energy production.”
