Mexico Altamira LNG Terminal Gets Cargo

Altamira liquefied natural gas terminal in Mexico received a cargo of LNG from Nigeria today, according to the Port of Altamira website.

The 154,000 cbm Trinity Glory arrived Thursday at the Port of Altamira, near Tampico, on the east coast of Mexico. The tanker sailed from Nigeria’s Bonny LNG terminal.

In 2011, Vopak and Enagas have reached an agreement with Shell, Total and Mitsui to acquire 100% of the shares in the LNG import terminal in Altamira.

The terminal consists of 2 tanks of 150,000 cubic meters (cbm) each and a jetty capable of receiving LNG vessels with a capacity of up to 216,000 cbm.
