Siemens to Deliver Gas Turbines to Yamal LNG Project in Russia

One of the world’s leading engineering companies Siemens said it has secured a contract to supply gas turbines for a plant that will power the Yamal LNG project in Russia.

The company said it has sold six gas-fired power generating turbines, each with a capacity of 47MW, to Technopromexport, a subsidiary of the Rostech State Corporation, which is building the plant.

Technopromexport will build a power plant on the Yamal peninsula to support operations of the liquefied natural gas plant near settlement Sabetta.

The first stage of the power plant construction project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015.

Yamal LNG is owned by NOVATEK (60%),  TOTAL (20%) and CNPC (20%).
