Jordan Cove, Pacific Connector File U.S. Army Corps License Applications

The Jordan Cove Energy Project and Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline announced that applications have been filed with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for permits required to construct marine facilities, associated liquefied natural gas (LNG) liquefaction facilities and the natural gas pipeline that crosses federal navigable waters.

These applications follow the earlier Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) applications submitted by Jordan Cove and Pacific Connector.

“This is another significant step in our progress toward permit approval,” said Elliot Trepper, President of Jordan Cove. “Approval of the Army Corps permit will reinforce that our project can be built and operated with the highest safety and environmental standards.”

The U.S. Army Corps is a cooperating agency with the FERC in the preparation of a single Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that encompasses the extent of the project from the eastern beginning of the pipeline in Malin, Oregon to the territorial waters of the United States off the coast of Coos Bay, Oregon. The draft EIS is anticipated to be published by FERC for public comment in the winter of 2013/2014.
