PostNL Tests Bio LNG Truck (The Netherlands)

PostNL Tests Bio LNG Truck

PostNL added a super clean truck that runs on LNG which stands for ‘liquid natural gas’ but it is actually ‘liquid biogas’ made from waste.

The truck complies with the strictest environmental and noise requirements with this truck.

LNG is an ideal fuel for heavier forms of transport, such as ships and trucks. An important advantage of LNG is that the emissions contain 90 percent less particulate matter and nitrogen. The emission of an LNG truck is 80 percent CO2-neutral. LNG is also cleaner for the engine. Which means less maintenance.

An important part of PostNL’s corporate responsibility policy is Sustainable Logistics.

The truck is an IVECO Stralis which is converted to LNG. At the end of 2014 PostNL will evaluate whether the truck on LNG meets the PostNL ‘s requirements.
