GTT Marine, a division of France’s Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), has been tasked with deploying its integrated vessel performance solutions across a fleet of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers (LNGC) on hire with Malaysia’s energy giant Petronas.

GTT Marine will equip the Petronas-chartered LNG carrier fleet with its suite of digital solutions, supporting the Malaysian giant in implementing an integrated approach to overall vessel performance to improve operational efficiency, control costs, and reduce emissions.

The company emphasizes that this commitment can also be extended to accommodate the future expansion of the Asian energy firm’s chartered LNG carrier fleet. The suite of solutions encompasses monitoring vessel performance, as GTT Marine’s data acquisition capability enables the collection, structuring, and analysis of operational data, combining noon-reports with high-frequency sensor data.

Afterward, the data is turned into actionable insight through Vesper Insights, giving crews and fleet management teams a clearer, evidence-based view of vessel performance over time and helping them prioritize technical, operational and maintenance actions.

The digital suite also entails optimizing voyages and reducing emissions by combining weather data, vessel performance models and digital twins, with continuous 24/7 support from the company’s Fleet Centre. Those capabilities are said to provide crews and shore teams additional decision-support for route planning, fuel consumption management and emissions reduction.

In addition, the solutions include enhancing visibility of cargo operations with cargo management monitoring solutions that provide improved visibility into cargo operations and associated vessel operations.

Casper Jensen, CEO of GTT Marine, commented: “This agreement with Petronas is a strong validation of what we’ve built by bringing Danelec, Ascenz Marorka and Vessel Performance Solutions together under GTT Marine.

“Today, we deliver data acquisition, performance analytics, and voyage optimisation as one integrated suite, backed by our Fleet Centre around the clock. That is the real value of combining these three companies’ expertise: moving from fragmented digital tools to integrated, data-driven decision-making.”

This assignment comes shortly after GTT picked multiple orders for LNG carrier tank design jobs and a floating LNG (FLNG) unit.
