VIDEO First Transshipment from Montoir LNG Terminal

GDF SUEZ posted a video showing the first transshipment from the Montoir LNG terminal. As previously reported, on August 7, Elengy and the Port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire successfully completed their first transhipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) between two high-capacity LNG carriers, the Ben Badis (177,000m3 capacity) and the Gemini  (126,000m3 capacity).

World first, the transfer between ships took place at the Montoir-de-Bretagne LNG terminal under conditions of maximum reliability and safety. Moored to a landing stage, the two LNG carriers were linked together for 48 hours using articulated transfer arms.

Allowing to transship a freight directly between two LNG tankers, thanks to its terminal’s two jetties, Elengy answers to a new demand from the LNG customers. Transshipment operations bring more flexibility to the LNG market.
