Japan Utilities July LNG usage up

The ten regional electric power companies in Japan consumed 5.04 million tonnes of LNG in July, up 5.2 percent compared to July last year, data from the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan (FEPC) shows.

The power companies bought 5 million tonnes of LNG in July, down 3.4 percent compared to the same month a year ago.

Power companies account for two-thirds of total Japanese LNG imports.
