A2SEA’s Sea Worker Capsized Offshore Denmark

A2SEA’s Sea Worker vessel has capsized during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, after running aground off the Coast of Hvide Sande, Denmark.

Sea Worker is a jack-up barge equipped to operate in the offshore wind sector. It is capable of  installing a wide range of equipment such as monopiles, transition pieces and the latest generation of offshore wind turbines.

Reportedly, the accident has occurred due to harsh weather on the site.

According to the company, during the Wednesday morning, no pollution has been detected from the vessel.

Focus remains on preventing any oils or fuels leaking from the vessel.

The environmental vessel Gunnar Seidenfaden is on call in the Port of Hvide Sande ready to respond if any development occurs.

A2SEA noted that the next step is removal of all oil and fuels from Sea Worker as soon as weather permits.
