ADIK Shipyard Hosts Minister of Maritime and River Transportation of Turkmenistan

On June 1st 2012, H.E. Minister of Maritime and River Transportation of Turkmenistan H.E. Mutdikov Meylis accompanied with a delegation of the ministry visited ANADOLU (ADIK) Shipyard. HE Minister Meylis was hosted by the Shipyard’s Chairman M.Faruk Ürkmez, CEO Ertuğ Yaşar and Defense Group Coordinator Admiral (ret) Metin Poyrazlar.

HE Minister Meylis was at Tuzla bay on a visit to another Turkish shipyard who has undertaken the Turkish Navy’s New Patrol Boat Project; similar Patrol Boats were also reported to be sold to Turkmenistan as well.

During the visit, HE Minister Meylis had the opportunity to see the shipyard and shipbuilding capabilities of ANADOLU Shipyard as well as visiting one of the Landing Craft Tanks (LCT) built by ANADOLIU Shipyard for Turkish Navy.

Following the sight and vessel visit two briefings were presented to HE Minister Meylis. The first brief was on ANADOLU Shipyard building capabilities and the second one commercial and Navy projects of ANADOLU Shipyard.

HE Minister Meylis showed his interest on chemical and oil tankers and asked additional detailed information on these projects. Additionally other type of vessels which may be required by Turkmenistan were also considered and discussed.
