Qatar’s RasGas has delivered the 500th cargo to the Adriatic LNG terminal located about 15 kilometers off the Veneto coastline.

The cargo has been delivered by the Nakilat-owned Al Marrouna LNG carrier with the capacity to transport 151,700 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.

In its statement, Adriatic LNG said the cargo of about 150,000 cubic meters of LNG was delivered from the Qatari Ras Laffan complex at the end of February.

The vessel is one of 28 different carriers to have delivered liquefied natural cargoes to the terminal.

Adriatic LNG at present delivers more than 39 billion of cubic meters of gas to the national pipeline network, which is more than half of domestic consumption in 2014.

Cargoes delivered to the gravity-based terminal with the 8 billion cubic meters annual capacity are sourced from Qatar, Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, Equatorial Guinea and Norway.

The operator of the facility, Adriatic LNG has been formed in 2005 by Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Edison.
