Adwen Books Olympic Orion

Norwegian ship operator Olympic Subsea has entered into an agreement with Adwen GmbH, a subsidiary of Siemens Gamesa, for the vessel Olympic Orion.

The contract period is firm for six months with further options. The contract commencement is in the second quarter of 2019.

Olympic Subsea did not disclose any further contract details.

”We see it as a great confidence statement from one of the largest players within the offshore windmill industry and we look forward to developing our relationship with Siemens,” said Stig Remøy CEO of Olympic Subsea.

The Multipurpose Offshore Vessel Olympic Orion is equipped with a gangway system, a 100-ton crane and an accommodation module to perform projects on wind farms in the North Sea and Baltic Sea, the company said.

Siemens Gamesa integrated Adwen within its offshore operations in 2017.

Four wind farms in German waters are using Adwen’s wind turbines: Alpha Ventus, Trianel Windpark Borkum, Global Tech I, and Wikinger. In total, 196 Adwen units are operating across the four wind farms.
