AF Group to Rebuild Cranes on Statoil's Gullfaks A and C Platforms (Norway)

AF Group (AFG) has received a letter of intent from Statoil ASA for workover and rebuilding of EOT-cranes on its offshore platforms.

The contract comprises workover and rebuilding of 15 EOT-cranes (Electrical Overhead Travelling cranes) on Gullfaks A and C platforms in the Norwegian Sector of the North sea.  The contract will have a value in excess of NOK 100 million ex. VAT. (approximately 16.8 million)

Construction will start in June 2012 with expected completion in April 2015.

AF Group has expanded its offshore services in order to offer more integrated and customer-oriented solutions. This is an important assignment for our offshore operations, and we look forward to continuing the good cooperation with Statoil, says Pål Egil Rønn, CEO of the AF Group.

The Gullfaks A platform began production on 22 December 1986, with Gullfaks B following on 29 February 1988 and the C platform on 4 November 1989.
